Not Corporate Enough

I have such a packed situation revolving around me. My brother’s passing his time in an isolated café (in my humble opinion) for $6 an hour, my parents shopping for a new shoe rack and possibly a new computer desk as well (god knows how many computer tables we need). My cousin and her new found spouse busy with outstanding settlements (car, condo…), baby mouse in national service (oooh nice uniform ;p), and my flying club alumni khakis with their get-together preparations and, my university school mates also, busy organizing their little un-numbered $10 per head chalet.

I don’t have to report about myself. Besides, I do have something to be busy with, a job I have. Yes.

Started at 8am yesterday morning.

Ends at 1pm yesterday afternoon.

That’s it.

Don’t you start judging me. I had a job (although I only did it in order to cover for a friend for half a day). Still, a job is a job. I can still go around telling people I ain’t loaded and I really did do something in the holidays to earn that little extra income to support my family.

Even though it could mean buying a pair of jeans for myself (:p).

And I got this cool Pizza Hut voucher from my friend as a treat for covering her duties (thanks Angel :D!).

Anyway so yes I am free now. And I love being free. Hordes of people with deadpanned faces at Tanjong Pagar are annoying me. I even saw my cousin there (not the married one)! And she looked just as blank as them. Poor child bound to her polytechnic attachment till February. And till then guess what? Nothing changes (at least not for this particularly unexciting train station).

Tell me, what’s so great about corporate environment besides pathetic wages and depressing salary figures and perhaps a chocked up toilet bowl?

Don’t even ask.

Auction Lots

My oxygen bag for the week.

Thanks to the power of word of mouth, I uploaded a few good items for sale on eBay. My boyfriend thought I might as well sell off the extra stuff I don’t need, though some of which aren’t actually mine at all. I decided to use my blogging space to advertise for everyone anyway.

SO PEOPLE OF EARTH, KINDLY DO ME A FAVOR BY SPREADING THE NEWS!

I spoke to my married cousin just days ago (if you ever count short messaging). Apparently, the young bride’s life is perhaps so full of activity she couldn’t even spend quality time by herself. And I haven’t seen her happy husband around either. I guess I wouldn’t have been in such backtrack position if not for term papers.

Damn those term papers. Damn those freaking rotten term papers.

Anyway it’s my first December post (:D) and nothing can ruin my Christmas mood. Though interestingly, I have yet to see a picture or décor of Santa Claus since November and again when we drove past town yesterday. What’s up with that town people (:P)?

That picture is making me hungry. Enjoy your lunches all you little pixies.

Flying Free, Literally.

Wahoo! No more studying for the rest of November and December. That’s right my final paper is officially over today. A long awaited break I need, though it was only a few moments ago to be exact that I truly become conscious that I am essentially free from being trapped in a never ending iteration.

I am so loving the moment (:D).

So some nerds are trying to clear their last few papers, a few of those international punks are going back to their respective homeland tomorrow. Of course I won’t be tagging along (:p), but I feel so excited! Imagine spending the holidays in the busy streets of India! Reminds me of all that Bollywood action.

Sexay sexay sexay…

Anyway so yes, Christmas is coming. Christmas is coming! Christmas jingles can be heard in almost every chic departmental store since early November. Even the halls and link ways in Seletar Airbase are also done up neatly with seasonal décor (for those who have yet to adopt the festive mood, what's up with that :P?). You know, people should really put lots of emphasis into the notion and preparation for this whole month of Thanksgiving.

Check out this holy wreath outside CHIJMES as premature as October.

I should enjoy my holidays. After all, my timetable sucked for the next school term because I have four finals to clear. Yes on the contrary to polytechnics, universities are all about the number of term papers to waste youth on.

My hair hurts just thinking about it (:[).

Whatever it is till then, I am blessed with my old and comfortable good life, great love and a fantastic month of December. Happy Thanksgiving :D!

"Dog-Tired"

This isn’t an entry about dogs.

It’s just one more grandiloquent idiom to describe my individual condition.

Last week, we finally spoke to our professor about my crazy team mate. After a whole bunch of wise words that rhymes with team dynamics (yeah, whatever), the million dollar instruction was, “He will be graded accordingly, not to worry.

That is so the line of the month! The one and only logical verdict the rest of us couldn’t wait to worship. At long last, justice pays tribute to all hardworking mankind. Finally I am starting to smell the fruit of my labor (and I don’t really care if I drown you with my contentment in the meantime :P).

Though that did not truly elevate my mood much more than yesterday because I still have a couple more hurdles to cross before I reach the end of this impious land. I cannot tolerate people who are dependant and unreliable. If I ever am going to set up my own line in future, I am going to stress and aggressively promote individualism to be my company culture. Leadership and teambuilding is just bullshit (and you know it, so quit pretending to be a follower to those nutty professors).

I can’t be more elated knowing that the semester is ending.
